We are looking for both experienced pastry chefs and new graduates of Pastry Arts programs for our Resort and Hotels in Canada (Alberta and British Columbia)
At our core, we believe in innovation and we are consistently trying to further our understanding and improve our skills related to bread and pastry.
CANDIDATE PROFILE SUMMARY:
Does this excite you? We are looking for a pastry chef who is passionate, creative and ready to expand their skillset. This person must be team-oriented, organized, demonstrate great communication skills and multi-tasking abilities.
Responsible for daily and weekly pastry/bread production
Scaling, mixing, recording, shaping, laminating and rolling viennoiserie etc..
Develop and maintain recipes, portion specifications, and standard preparation procedures for all dishes and ensure that all team members are following these standards.
Learn flour mill operation and maintenance, assess grain and flour quality, improve processes for more consistent extraction percentages
Contribute to weekly pastry team meetings and research and development initiatives
Lead and cook by example and provide guidance to any subordinates.
Prepares all food items directed in a sanitary and timely manner
Prepares food items consistently by adhering to all recipe standards
Maintains a safe working environment by using food handling skills and proper food safety guidelines
Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by team lead or business owners
Certificate or degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
Possess a passion for culinary excellence with passion to create exciting new dishes, appropriate for the venue’s concept.
Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours, as needed.
Maintains openness and willingness to learn new techniques and improve abilities.
Ability to navigate and utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
